Climbing Mountains is easier than writing copy for social media!!
Updated: Sep 26

When I was younger I took a year out and travelled the entire length of Central and South America. It was one of the best things I've ever done. We arrived in Ecuador and started a trek up to the high Andes. We decided that we were going to join a group going up to the ice peak of Cotapaxi - about 30 miles south of Quito the capital and the 2nd highest summit in Ecuador.
We started off travelling with our gear in a jeep through dirt track across the stunning landscape of the plains. Then we camped at night in a run down shack - for the full tourist experience! In the morning none of us had had any sleep due to the many wild animals running about outside - and inside!
Undeterred we drove to the base of the peak where we were staying the night. At that altitude your ears fell like that are exploding and it takes some time to get used to the thin air and your heart races!

At midnight - ice crampons and ice gear packed in our kits we started the climb. Easy going at first, but we soon found out that the nearer the summit we got the wind became wilder and wilder, the ice blasts flew in our faces, catching your breath was near impossible, and climbing in ice gear wasn't a picnic!
I never made it to the summit - no one did the day we went - the weather was just too bad, BUT I did get to a height of 3500 meters so I was pretty impressed with myself and I was glad I'd not given up and turned back!
So why am I telling you this? I talked to a client recently who'd also been to South America and she'd said "Climbing Mountains is easier than writing copy for social media!!" It made me laugh.
Many people feel like they are looking at a huge mountain when they think about starting their social media text. It's something that can often happen. And if it's happening to you, then it probably feels like a huge task, and you're probably putting it off.

I've talked to several people lately who have almost given up hope. Their reach is going down because they've not been posting on a consistent basis. The block for them is just being able to start the writing, and it can be really frustrating if you can't face it.
And, what happens next if you can’t face? You put it off.
But when you put it off the next time you ty to do it the longer it takes, so you get more frustrated and you go round in circles ..you’re stuck!!
Sometimes Social Media can be TOUGH & Starting writing can be really challenging...

So what do you do about it?
I’ve worked with lots of people recently who’ve been in this position.
And often what I've found is that that getting the 'spark' to get you started can happen when you're around people who can give you confidence.
You need Confidence to write good posts + Confidence that you can get your visibility up.

We’ve worked together on their social media, their copywriting and their posting schedules and they’ve finished up feeling less frustrated, overwhelmed and have a structure for their social media posts.
